Circadian Downlight
Evening mode 100% blue free
Flicker Free. Low EMF.
3 light modes
Mimics Sunlight
A full spectrum downlight designed to shift with your day, the way light was always meant to.
Most ceiling lights stay the same from morning to midnight, the same bright white output whether it's 7am or 10pm. But the body uses light as information: bright, energising light signals alertness; warmer, softer light signals the day winding down. When your ceiling light never changes, those signals get confused.
The LUM8 Circadian Downlight shifts through three modes as your day progresses, giving every room in your home a light environment that actually reflects the time of day.
Day Mode replicates the quality of natural daylight, supporting focus, energy and visual clarity for work, cooking, or any daytime activity.
Late Afternoon Mode shifts to a warmer tone as blue wavelengths reduce, helping the body start its transition away from peak alertness.
Evening Mode drops to a deeply warm, calm, 100% blue free light, designed to support your body's natural wind-down before rest. Ideal for bedrooms, living rooms, and anywhere you want to feel the day gently closing.
Changes with a quick flick of your existing wall switch, no app, no remote, no rewiring. Installs into a standard downlight socket in minutes; for hardwired downlights, installation must be carried out by a licensed electrician, a legal requirement in Australia.
Due to higher EMF output. Circadian lighting is not compatible with dimmer switches. Dimmer circuits interfere with the lights internal 3-mode function and may cause it to malfunctionΒ
Key Features
- Three light modes β Day, Late Afternoon, Evening β that shift with your day
- Evening Mode is 100% blue light free
- Changes with a quick flick of your existing wall switch, no app or remote needed
- Flicker free and low EMF
- Installs in minutes into a standard downlight socket
Installation β simpler than you might think
Most modern homes already have a plug socket mounted in the ceiling where the downlight connects β much like a powerpoint in the wall. If that's the case in your home, installation is straightforward: remove the existing downlight from the ceiling socket and connect the new LUM8 downlight in its place. Many homeowners do this themselves in minutes.
If your existing downlights are directly wired (no plug socket), installation must be carried out by a licensed electrician β a legal requirement in Australia. Not suitable for NZ domestic installations. Not sure which type you have? An electrician can check and complete the swap quickly.
"Your ceiling light is sending your brain information all day long. Once we switched to circadian lighting at home, our evenings changed completely."

Light Like Nature Intended
Daytime Mode
From morning through late afternoon. Full-spectrum energising light that supports focus, alertness and natural cortisol rhythms. Ideal for work, school and any daytime activity where clarity matters.
Evening Mode
From around 6pm, switch to evening mode. Blue wavelengths reduce, warmth increases. Your body begins receiving the same signal it evolved to receive at dusk β that the day is ending and rest is coming.
FAQ
Light is your body's primary signal for regulating the circadian rhythm β the internal clock that controls sleep, energy, hormones and metabolism. Bright blue-rich light signals daytime, suppresses melatonin and promotes alertness. Warm, blue-reduced light signals evening and allows melatonin to rise naturally. Most standard LED lighting stays bright and blue-heavy all day, which confuses the body's clock and disrupts sleep quality.
From sunset, or from 6pm as a consistent daily habit. This is when melatonin production naturally begins and blue light is most disruptive to sleep. Children are more sensitive to this than adults β switching to evening mode 1β2 hours before their bedtime makes a noticeable difference to settling and sleep quality.
Yes. Mode switching works using your existing wall switch β simply turn the light off and back on to cycle through modes. No app, no smart home hub, no rewiring required. The Circadian Downlight must be installed by a licensed electrician. The Circadian Globe fits any compatible E27 socket.
A warm globe operates at a single fixed colour temperature β it doesn't shift with your day. LUM8 circadian products cycle through three distinct modes: a bright, energising day mode, a transitional late afternoon mode, and a deeply warm evening mode. Each mode is engineered to provide the right light signal at the right time β something a single warm globe cannot do.
Yes. Standard LED lights often flicker at rates invisible to the naked eye β typically 50β100Hz. This flickering contributes to eye strain, headaches and nervous system stimulation. Zero-flicker technology eliminates this completely. Combined with low EMF output, it means the light supports your biology rather than working against it.
Yes β and children benefit more than adults from circadian-correct lighting because their developing nervous systems are more sensitive to blue light. Switching living areas and bedrooms to evening mode from 6pm is one of the simplest environmental changes parents can make for calmer evenings and easier settling at bedtime.
